You can request a full clinical manual here at this link. Go down to the bottom of the page and follow the instructions.
You will need to state the full model name as there are several S8 models.
There is data available on the LCD screen on some S8 models...so which one do you have?

Here are the quick instructions on how to get to the clinical setup so you can change your pressures but I suggest getting the full manual so you can see everything it offers.
ResMed S8 Compact, S8 Elite, S8 AutoSet Vantage & AutoSet Spirit: Press the right and down arrows simultaneously for about 3 seconds until the word "clinical" appears. Select Menu, then use the left and right arrows to cycle through the settings. Use the up and down arrows to make adjustments.

You don't have to use the humidifier if you don't want to. I think there is a setting somewhere in the clinical setup to turn it off so no heat is applied.

I have never even seen a S8 machine. I have no clue which button does what.
There are the right and left arrow buttons though and those are what the directions are referring to.
I think once the whichever arrow button changes the setting once it is changed to whatever is selected then if a person exits the menu that change will stay at where it is at.
This would be different from your S9 where you have to push the round button to get to the area where changes are made on that machine's screen.
I know with my old M series machine we used the arrow buttons and once a change was made all we had to do was exit the screen. No additional pushing of any buttons was needed.

Hi,

I use an S8, but it is VPAP 25, so I doubt that the buttons are the same. However, you can just turn the humidifier dial all the way down (counter clockwise), and that will turn the heat off or to its very lowest position. You can still put water in the tray and get what is called passover humidification. That is where the air hits the water and picks up just a little humidity, but it doesn't heat up the air.

As I recall, the humidifier module should just pop off after pressing a big silver button on the bottom. Once it pops off, there is an outlet for the hose. My Respironics needs an adapter when you do this, but I don't know about the S8. It is worth giving this a try and seeing if your hose will connect directly to the S8 after pulling off the humidifier module.
