Does Lansinoh help with leakage on Swift LT nasal pillows

Post by marydye » Thu Jul 26, 2012 8:22 am

Am wondering if any of you use Lansinoh if you are experiencing leakage with Swift LT nasal pillows. If so do you just use a very small amount on the outside of the little nasal insert?

Small amount just inside the nose where the inner cones of the nasal pillow touch. In small amounts the Lansinoh ointment is a bit tacky and helps things stick. Don't use too much though or your body heat will melt it and the nasal pillows will end up in your ear (I did that once). It works with any nasal pillow mask.

I do exactly as Pugsy suggests. If I have to use more due to soreness, I will sometimes wake with some major leaks. If so, I turn off my machine, lift the pillows, wipe my nose on my pj sleeves, wipe the pillows and remount. Works like a champ. Earl

When I get done with my nostrils I wipe my thumb & forefinger around the sealing portion of each nasal pillow. Then I'm off.
O a dab for the lips too

Hi,

I sometimes use Lansinoh. I very little bit of it applied to the nasal pillows does the trick for me. Just enough to leave a very thin film. I found that if I use too much, or try putting it on my nose, then it melts and causes even worse problems trying to get a good seal. I also find that when I start having too many issues with the seal, it is time to either replace the nasal pillows, or to replace the mask (due to the swivel joint getting too lose, and it not being able to hold the right angle against my nose).

I find that that the Swift is so comfortable that I am willing to put up with a little extra hassle and expense to make it work.

When my local Walgreen's started charging almost $14 for a small tube of Lansinol, I got pretty mad. I read from someone on this site that NOW FOODS sells a 3oz jar of pure Lanolin really cheap... don't remember the price mentioned exactly ($5?) but it was a great deal. There's a NOW distributor a few towns over that has it so I've been meaning to snag some. Any comments from members

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

I even used Lansinoh (a thin smear) around the rim of a full-face mask that was leaking like a colander half the night.
Leak stopped! -and I woke up with such a soft face.
Mmmm, soft lips; wait! we're suppose to be SLEEPING!
Lansinoh is also sold at Wal Mart and Target.
Ask the local chapter of La Leche League where it's reasonable --they might know.
Somebody pointed out that you can get the unbranded pure lanolin from the pharmacy--really cheap.

Someone said that the jar of pure lanolin smelled like sheep and wasn't the most pleasant of odors. So I would open it first to smell it first. Nothing like putting something stinky up your nose to ruin a whole night.

I got my Lansinoh ointment at WalMart for around $9 but that was 3 years go. It lasts like forever though.

I wonder if you can get scent-free lanolin for home-made soap-making?
--and how the cost stacks up?
