The two pictures below show my stats for July 19 and July 21. The first is my first "smiley face" on SleepyHead, and probably my only. The next is two nights later with vastly different results. I'm coming up on my first anniversary of CPAP and I obviously haven't gotten it totally figured out. Part of it is physical conditions. I had a rather traumatic procedure on my esophagus, with accompanying discomfort (OK, pain). In two weeks I will be having surgery for prostate cancer, so there will be some more ups and downs. I always appreciate the help and encouragement offered by my fellow CPAP users on this board.

RogerAN, so sorry for everything you're going through. Apart from the overall stress of your health issues, do you identify anything different between these two nights (or the days)? Is this an unusual disparity between your AHIs for these two nights -- is there usually that much variability for you?

Thanks for your kind concerns -- I appreciate that! Yes, I do tend to have variability in my stats, but typically nothing like that shown on those two particular nights. I'll be tracking my stats more closely for a while and will try to keep you posted.

When we are under stress and/or in pain we just don't sleep as well as we really need to. Just the way it is. Some nights are going to be better than others. Sometimes we just have a "restless" night and that may be a possible explanation for that second night which doesn't look nearly as pretty as the first night.
Also...sometimes stuff happens and we just don't have any reason that we can find. I like to blame those nights on aliens and shrug my shoulders. I have them also sometimes.
Sending you a bunch of well wishes for your upcoming procedure.
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.
