Automatic turn on

Post by seekingsleep » Thu Jul 19, 2012 1:20 am

I just re-read my subject line and this sounds like a possible naughty post but it's not!

My problem is with my machine. I have only had my machine a couple of months and I love it. I didn't know sleep could be this wonderful. I no longer walk around in a fog and I am not needing to nap like I used to. I have even started losing weight. Not a lot but I am on my way!

Anyway, I love my machine (Philips Respersonics ) but I have a question. It is supposed to turn on automatically when I put on the mask. (I use the For Her nasal pillow) Sometimes it turns on and other times it doesn't. I don't mind turning it on but why does it only work some of the time?
I love sleep. My life has a tendency to fall apart when I'm awake, you know?"

The simple answer is sometimes it leaks and can't tell YOU are breathing.

I had a similar problem when I started. It turned out that I was breathing too gently and tentatively when I put on the the mask. Try to make a habit of taking three really forceful breaths immediately after putting it on.

I believe there was discussion of the smaller size pillows sometimes not allowing enough volume of air to activate the auto-on feature.
