Swift Fx

Post by joe26 » Sun Jul 15, 2012 6:48 am

Good morning everyone,

I got my new swift fx and I love it. But I have a lot of leaks. I felt that the leaks are between the swivel and the ring. So I went back to my DME and I got an other one, but same thing leaks bet swivel and ring
Did anyone els had the same problem.

Please Advise

Thanks in Advance
Joe

Are you sure you're not confusing the CO2 vent holes with leaks?

My Swift FX leaks a tiny bit around the attachment swivel. I think it's just part of the design and I'm sure the engineers took that into account by including its leak rate in their overall calculations. It's a constant rate of very slow leakage, so I figure it's there for a purpose; mostly to maintain smooth swivel action, which is a very important design consideration. In other words, I wouldn't worry about it.

I like my ResMed AirFit F10 FFM - reasonably low leaks for my ASV therapy. I'm currently using a PR S1 AutoSV 960P Advanced. I also keep a ResMed S9 Adapt as backup. I use a heated Hibernite hose. Still rockin' with Win 7 by using GWX to stop Win 10.

Put your mask on and turn the machine on then put your finger over the vent holes to make sure that any normal venting exhaust is stopped momentarily and then feel around the swivel connector. There shouldn't be any perceptible leaking there and if there is then the most likely culprit is the fitting at the connector is not attached properly. That fitting with the connector can be a real bear sometimes to get it just right.

I have a Swift FX and haven't had any problems with that. If you think it is leaking, put just the base of the mask under water with a little bit of soap and turn the machine on. If there are bubbles, there is a leak.
