Quatrro FX mask noise

Post by dragon672 » Sat Jul 07, 2012 6:24 am

Alright I've been trying to monitor my stats everyday. I'm sleeping better and its seems I'm finally sleeping longer before waking up. I'm still waking up 2 or 3 times a night. But I think I've noticed a pattern. I always look at my watch when I wake btw. The times I wake up are almost the time my pressure is at its highest and my mask is making the most noise. That was one thing I liked about the Mirage Quattro was that it seemed quieter. If I tighten the straps when I lay down will that lessen the noise?

Also I tried the Mirage Liberty a few days ago. Did not like the feeling of anything in my nose. Plus I have allergies all year round.

I like the Quattro FX but is there another mask without the nasal bridge that is quieter?

Thanks.

What type of noise? If it is a farting sound, pull up the mask a bit and readjust it without unclipping it from the headgear. That may work. Also, are you using a liner? That can help get a better seal, especially around the eyes/bridge of the nose. You can fell that leak and sometimes there is a bit of a whistle. Pad-a-Cheek has liners, or try cutting one from an old, thin, soft, tshirt. I found that I didn't get a good seal below my lip, so I have cut liners that only cover the bridge of the nose and down the side. That has worked well for me for nearly a year. Another thing, adjust the straps after you lie down. I don't have to readjust straps everyday, only if one comes loose.

I've already made a mask liner and that's what I'm using. I'll just try tightening the straps.

Are you first adjusting your mask at your highest pressure? If you adjust it at your min pressure it will start to leak as the pressure increases.
