Where to donate a cpap

Post by Diane in CA » Fri Jun 29, 2012 1:00 pm

I have an old machine. It has not been used in several years but I'm sure that it still works. I am happy to donate but I have no idea who would accept this kind of donation. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Diane

Locally, you could ask your sleep doc or their staff for leads.
Maybe the Red Cross or a homeless shelter could use it.
Also senior center, League for Human Dignity, or any hospital auxiliary.
No harm in posting it on local bulletin boards, either physical or virtual.
I'm told that some retailers' health insurance does not cover cpap machines (Sam's club-- )

I donated one to a local free medical clinic. They were happy to have it.

A few years ago, I donated an old machine to the father of a woman who participated on another forum. Her father had lost his entire home and possessions in a terrible flood in the midwest.

I am sure there are some in need of a CPAP among the victims of recent tornados or wildfires. Try to search out one of the associated charities.

You could list it for free on craigslist, if you can't find a better option.
