Help Understanding SleepHead Data - Still a newbie

Post by Bigron452 » Mon Jun 25, 2012 9:58 am

Hi Everyone,

Well after 10 days, I installed SH and pulled some data .. Now the trick is to try and interpert what it all means. Can someone tell me how to import my findings? Please let me know what's most important to look at and what should be posted.

I was able to cut and paste this from the stats tab. Am I good on leaks? Does the pressure need to be changed? I'd appreciate any info you could share.

Looks good. I wouldn't change a thing. Leaks are fine.
Take a look in my signature line for my tutorial which is far from finished but I think some of the discussion will help you understand things better.

If you want to post an image of the detailed report from one night like you see here...
this is how I do it.

Open the image to full size so it is easily read.
I use Vista snipping tool to create a screen shot and crop the image at the same time.
Prt/scr key will also take a screen shot if using XP. If laptop is used sometimes the Fn key has to be pushed at the same time as the prt/scr key
I think windows 7 Home Premium has the snipping tool, Basic may not.

Once the screen shot is created save it in jpg format.
Upload the image to a host site. I use Photobucket it is free, there are others.
Once the image is uploaded then copy the ENTIRE IMG address. Be sure to include the opening and closing IMG in brackets. Paste that copied address into a post here.
Use the preview button. If you can't see the image try again because if you can't see it we can't.

Hi Pugsy,
Thanks for the tips .. I was able to set AutoIQ and let it run for 2 hrs before work today. I got a lot of events (don't know what they are yet but the marks are there), pressure started at 3 and worked its way up to 12 .. I'll go 2 more days to see where it ends up. I was orginally set at 14 (pressure setting from my original study in '04) .. at times it feels a little overbearing. I'll keep posting the progress! PS will get into the tutorial later today ..

The only events of any real meaning is that cluster right before you woke up.
If that was when you used the auto feature and started out at the minimum of 4 then that would explain the cluster.
Likely minimum was too low to get to where it needed quickly enough. The rest of the night things were acceptable.
The trick to using the machine in APAP mode...start the minimum pressure high enough to give the machine a good head start. It doesn't raise the pressure from 4 to 12 in a blink of an eye...instead it goes up in stages and tests things along the way.
Starting out at 4 cm works great if you happen to need only 8 or 9 cm pressure but not so great if you need 11 or 12 or whatever higher. You don't have to start it out right at the "ideal" pressure...just get it close enough so that it can get to where it needs to be before the events come and go.

Your pressure graph shown is the zoomed in version so I can't tell what went on with the pressure during that cluster.
