Confession Time....

Post by cpaptex » Tue Jun 19, 2012 9:29 am

I have been not "compliant" with my APAP machine.

When I went into an Adrenal Crisis at the beginning of May, I started be become excessively tired again and I would just crash into bed and reluctantly fall to sleep. I would use the APAP machine only 25% of the time. I would wake up, just like the old days, when I had desaturated and still not put the mask on.

Then, last Saturday, the massive headache reappeared. So I put on the mask and went back to sleep. I knew what had happened. Sunday morning I D/L'd the data to my computer and my AHI was a 17! Wow, that's really high for me. I used the APAP that morning for just 4 hours and most of the 50+ events took place over a 35 minute span about 20 minutes after I put the mask back on. I wonder how bad it was before that?

Anyway, I've learned my lesson, my wife now wakes me up to have me put the mask back on. She's not going to let matters get any worse. Addison's causes my BP to drop at night and that combined with Apneas is not a good thing.
I'm getting better day by day. Few if any OA Events, mostly CAs and Hyponeas.

I have Interstital Lung Disease

Congrats on lessons learned. Sometimes they are very hard lessons!

You had better listen to your wife better from now on or I am going to send the cpap police or my alien friends out to have a good talk with you.

Please don't let it slide anymore. I know it can be a real PITA but the alternatives are a whole lot worse...you know that.

That's good! Will have to remember it.

I'm sure most of us have been tempted to do less than our best in the compliance department so your confession is a good reminder why we do this and how important it is that we endeavor to persevere.

Hi there
1) I laid down for a nap the other day without the cpap.
2) Got a raging headache and felt uneasy the rest of the day!
3) Not worth it to skip it!!!!

On top of that, I'll get the CPope to excommunicate him.
