Respironics M Series APAP

Post by bouncer » Mon Jun 18, 2012 3:55 pm

Can you still buy the M series APAP? (I am in the UK)
I'm trying to get used to the pressure pulse events of a loan Remstar System One APAP but I am constantly disturbed by them and getting more and more tired. I understand from looking at past posts that the M Series did not "Pressure Pulse" so I am hoping that still being able to buy of these may be a solution - OK I realise that it wouldn't give me info about centrals and other in depth details like the PRS1 does, but I'd forfeit all that for a comfortable night's sleep.

That model has been discontinued since winter of 2009.
They can be found though but usually used. In the UK it may be much harder though.
Give me a minute. I will send you an idea on where to find what you want via private message.

If you can try out an S9 AutoSet, their CA detection technique may be enough different to not bother you. It works a lot differently.

Does anyone have any idea whether FOT is more or less disturbing than PRS1 pressure pulses to patients who are bothered by it?

I guess it's possible FOT will bother some people even more than PRS1 pulse, so it would be real good if you could get one to try before buying.

Arch, I think you just answered the question I've been asking myself! Hubby uses the S9 Autoset as his primary machine but I just finished a trial with the PR System One Auto for 2wks. Since he can't tell me exactly what he's feeling I can only guess that something is definitely causing him disturbances with the PR other than missing bottom teeth which are causing some temporary leak issues. I think it's those PP that were disturbing him, never thought of that! I know he is very sensitive to Flex/EPR and too wide an Apap range. This is the 2nd night back on the S9 and he's less restless. Could be??
