I have a resmed S9 Auto - and on sleepyhead, they have Hypopnea, apnea, clear airway, and obstructive - so what is just apnea? - it is not clear airway or obstructive, just labeled as apnea

Re: Apnea
i've never seen anything that says just apnea in sleepyhead. i'd like to see a screen shot of that.

Re: Apnea
When the FOT test to distinguish between CAs and OAs is inconclusive the Resmed S9 records the apnea and labels it as an "unknown" apnea. In ResScan these unknown apneas are called UAs. In SleepyHead, they are just called Apneas.

Re: Apnea
ResMed machines have another classification for "unknown apnea" and I believe that is what the plain apnea category is.
I have one night where where I have some of the plain "A" apneas reported on SH and Rescan calls them Unknown because they don't know what to call them.
I have it documented with pictures here in link below. Both ResScan and SH reports. You will likely have to right click the SH image to the the "Apnea" group and choose "view image" because it is large image and initially off the viewing screen.
This is the only time I have ever had anything show up in the unknown category on ResScan and the only time I have ever had anything show up in the "A" category on the event graphs.
Here is a link to the thread where I have examples of the reports.

Re: Apnea
the "apnea" is the green bar - from what I have read, this is an "unknown" apneagreatunclebill wrote:i've never seen anything that says just apnea in sleepyhead. i'd like to see a screen shot of that.

Re: Apnea
thanks for that. apparently sleepyhead displays different things for resmed and pr1. here's my version of the same thing.W7SOT wrote:

Re: Apnea
Yep, PR S1 users have different display of data because the data collected is not the same as S9 collected data.greatunclebill wrote: apparently sleepyhead displays different things for resmed and pr1. here's my version of the same thing
It is because the machines collect and report different data, not because of SleepyHead. SH just reports what the machines will report.
