Travel size machine recommendation
Travel size machine recommendation
I am new to CPAP and travel extensively.
I am looking for recommendations for a small travel machine.

Devilbiss Intellipap Auto -- fits into a nice sized bag; good quality machine; not too expensive

I travel frequently and have to agree with what archangle said in one of his posts.
The machine is not the problem. All of the current machines are quite small and easy to carry around.
The problem is everything that goes with it - the humidifier, the hose, the mask, a backup hose, a backup mask. These are the items that are not heavy but add bulk to the bag.
No, I won't travel without a backup hose and mask. One could easily be punctured or cracked in the overhead luggage bin.

I agree with this but I travel differently. I just bring the a copy of my prescription, the machine, the hose, the mask and a little duct tape in case the hose gets punctured. That's it - it all fits in one small bag and I'm ready to go.Sleep2Die4 wrote:I travel frequently and have to agree with what archangle said in one of his posts.

I happen to have one of these laying around which will become my airline travel case.Sleep2Die4 wrote:I travel frequently and have to agree with what archangle said in one of his posts.

I started with S8 AutoSet II and got a second unit to travel with. I don't use a humidifier, pack hose/mask/accessories along with meds in carry case. Very easy....and perfect size.

I'll also recommend the Devilbiss. That's the machine I have - I got it because its inexpensive and I was buying out of pocket. It comes with a travel case, and I had no problem fitting everything in it, after I opened the expansion zipper. I have had no experience with another machine, and would be hard pressed to make a change. I've never looked up the noise level on other machines, but I see people talk about the noise in their posts. The devilbiss is rated at 26 db. I really have to pay attention and listen hard to hear it at all - and it only 2 feet from my head. I can hear my computer fan from the room across the hall better than the 'pap. Plus, the warrany on their machines is 5 years!

I travel extensively, and I have been using the Transcend II. Very small and works really well

The Intellipap will work off your car's 12v DC with a very inexpensive cord
--The expense of the DC interfaces/batteries for all the others will make your blood boil.
If you have regular 110V current available, most of the better new ones are small and travel well.

I travel a lot, and leave my big machine at home. On travel I use an Aeromed Everest 2.
