Yes I agree with you.... Well the poll cannot be changed anymore. At least I cannot.cherylann wrote:You need a "nothing" option. My treatment has resolved nothing and it is going on one year.

Please give our best to Mike on this Memorial Day. I thank him for his service, but hate that he is still suffering from his injuries. EarlDoriC wrote:... We agreed because he wasn't doing much walking and we were afraid of clots....

Thanks Poppi, whenever he's given gratitude he always says he's one of the lucky ones, he came home, so many of his buddies did not and he still sheds tears for them. This is always an emotional holiday for him even after all these years. We can never fully understand what these young men experienced and what those that made it had to endure. After all these years, I still don't know his whole story. To all those who serve or have served our country in combat, you're all heroes.

My favorite effect of PAPpy? No more complaints from Hubby about my snoring. Now, if he could just stop snoring . . .

Re: POLL: Sleep apnea symptoms that CPAP solved for you
My cpap therapy has been much improved since my recent successful surgery (septioplasty and turbinate reduction). I hadn't realized just how much my sinus problems were interfering with my treatment. I am happy to report significant improvement in almost every category. Life is good.

It is interesting how many pollsters are aided in the reduction of "Midnight Tinkle Times", it's the 4th most common thing helped. I never had that problem, well, unless I drink a couple beers before bed (hic).

Re: POLL: Sleep apnea symptoms that CPAP solved for you
Well, there was one which wasn't in the poll.
Pain.
About six months after I had gall bladder surgery in which I was overdosed with anesthesia and spent four days in hospital for what was supposed to be same day surgery, I developed hip pain which woke me at least twice a night. I never got an uninterrupted night's sleep and I never felt rested. When I complained about it to my GP, he said I should stop stuffing my face and lose some weight, and it would all clear up.
Fast forward six years to my cancer diagnosis. (The GP ignored the reported symptoms, telling me to should stop stuffing my face and lose some weight, and it would all clear up. Fortunately, I took myself off for a second opinion.) I had a 24" slice across my gut for which the pain just would not go away. The hip pain was significantly worse and I was hideously exhausted, getting about 2 hours sleep, waking up to take anti-inflammatories, waiting for them to kick in, getting about 2 hours sleep, and repeat.
I was sent to a pain management specialist, since the GP apparently thought I was malingering in order to get more opiates. While there, I mentioned the on-going hip pain. Specialist sent me for a sleep test. It came back positive.
I ended up on a Bipap ASV, made a success of my therapy thanks to the info in this Forum, and for the first time in six years, began sleeping for more than two hours. Not to mention waking up without hip pain. (Oh, and the GP is now my FORMER GP.)

I didn't have all of the common symptoms listed so I only marked the couple that I had.
Regarding altering polls once submitted...I think that they can be edited but only if the changes are made prior to the first vote casting. After first vote is cast then we don't get the edit option to the poll itself...only to the comments about the poll or explanation in the first post that goes along with poll questions.

Re: POLL: Sleep apnea symptoms that CPAP solved for you
I think it's a very good poll and I enjoy seeing the responses of others. All of the problems I've had have been resolved by research on this forum so while I'm only about 5 months into the treatment, I love having so much energy. I used to think I would never have lots of energy again. Learning to manage my own health care in this case has been quite a learning experience so I have truly appreciated all of the help here.

Something that I don't see in the poll, and which I recently realized has stopped, is an irregular heartbeat. From time to time, for quite a few years, I would feel my heart beat a little differently. I even went to my dr. once and they hooked me up to a machine which did a printout of my heartbeat. She said it was not something to be concerned about and recommended monitoring my caffeine intake and getting some exercise. Not sure either one of those really helped, but as I said, I recently became aware that I never really feel that any longer.
