new to climatrol tubing for Resmed s9.

Post by Eton » Sat May 26, 2012 8:21 pm

I just switched to climatrol tubing for ResMed S9 and would like to know what humidity, and temp settings other users prefer. The setting default setting is 80 percent for the humidity, temp can be controlled. I am wondering if I should go to manual setting and reduce the humidity. I turned the temp down to 67 but still feel less than comfortable. Any suggestions? thanks

I turn my humidifier off during the summer...and I run on automatic climate line around 70 degrees in the winter. Temp and humidity is a personal comfort thing. So go with what works for you.

I use temp of 21*C or 70*F.

"21 deg C in F" in google told me that was 32.6597345 degrees Fahrenheit. Did they just hire some NASA people to do conversions?

If you switch to manual adjustments of heat and humidity instead of AUTO control, then your Climate Control Tubing does nothing. You might as well use regular tubing. The Climate Control Tubing heats up to prevent rainout but the patient manual specifically states that there is no rainout protection and no heating of the tubing if you switch off AUTO Climate Control.

There is a setting that allows for temperature AND humidity control individually with the Climate line.

Climate Control setting to Patient. That setting allows the patient to fully control the ClimateLine hose if/when they decide to use one: The patient can then choose between Auto and Off for his/herself. In Auto, the machine is supposed to maintain a relative humidity of 80% in the air inside the hose. In Off, the patient can independently choose the appropriate humidity level and the appropriate temperature most that makes him/her most comfortable.
