New S9

Post by scamp1963 » Wed May 23, 2012 7:54 pm

Geez am I happy I have been on cpap since Jan 2007 have never slept without it except one or two nights when my nose was plugged. that being said I have some equipment I would be willing to be releived of. I have a resmed s8 with humidifier. Smoke free home. It has high hours but parts might help someone. I have an everest 2 with humidifier and battery pack. less than 50 hours on it. I would let it go for a fair amount it was my backup and power out machine. I have 4 6 ft hoses an opus mask the box is unsealed but has never been used my dme tkaes out the 3 pillows of each size and replaces it with the 3 large. They run the pillow exchange for us. If you want to discuss any of these let me know. I will be very fair.

I along with 70 other people saw your post initially. Topic is "New S9" but instead you just tell us of the extra or used equipment that you are wanting to clean out by selling. Nothing about the S9 machine at all. I assume that you got a new S9 and are now wanting to clean out your extra machines along with some extra equipment no longer needed. That's fine but a far cry from what I thought the original subject line was leading to.

Now if your topic had been "cleaning out unneeded cpap stuff" the perhaps someone who is needing something would look closer. You have nothing that I need so I didn't respond.

Also...I just really prefer someone to plainly state what they consider a "fair" price. Everybody's idea of "fair" isn't the same. Some people don't like to haggle and some people do. I don't.

So you have an unused but open Opus mask. I assume the 360 since you mention 3 of the size large nasal pillows.
You have 4 of the 6 ft hoses... I assume grey standard hoses and not the white performance hoses...
You have the Everest 2 travel machine and battery pack. Machine has less than 50 hours on it. Unknown how long you have had it in your possession.
And finally a S8 machine of unknown model with humidifier of unknown model but high hours on the machine but I assume still works fine. Stating the model names would greatly enhance someone's interest.

Sometimes people just hesitate to ask questions or they don't like to haggle or perhaps simply no one has seen your post that happens to need anything that you happen to have. I don't and I imagine I was not alone.

Ebay won't let you sell the masks as complete units and totally doesn't allow sale of cpap machines. You can break up the mask into replacement parts and sell them that way. You will be competing with "new, sealed" products though.

Your local craigslist might be an option also.

And of course...just plainly state what you think a "fair" price is and let someone decide if you are close enough to haggle with or not.

Good luck to you...giving this post a little bump just in case someone does happen to spot something they are interested in.

Good luck!
I read the title and hoped to learn more about your new machine. I have an older unit, and have considered looking for a replacement.

Well I thank you pugsy I did get a new s9 not sure what a fair price is. I know how much I paid for it 3 years ago on the everest. But a used machine is not worth near as much. the s8 is a compact with a 3i humidifier.they are grey hoses. I will repost in the morning .

as far as my S9 it has the 5i with heat control I am very impressed the info available is amazing I am sleeping well with it. I probably won't haggle much I would like to have 350 out of the everest. I paid 750 for it and would keep it as a spare but I am too hooked on the s9 and will probably buy a second as a spare. The resmed 8 compact I would take 50 and postage. the mask I would take 50 the hoses 2 plus postage.

Does the ResMed S8 Compact offer any data on the LCD screen beyond hours of use? I am not real familiar with what they offered in regards to data. $50 is a fair price and would make someone a good backup machine or for someone with no money and a broken machine it would sure come in handy. You could easily sell it on craigslist at that price.

Sometimes people come here needing machines and don't have insurance and no jobs sometimes and to buy a new one is just out of the question. I haven't seen anyone recently in that situation but you never know who might show up tomorrow.

My S8 Elite II died recently, I just purchased a new S9 Elite to replace it.
I am not familiar with the ResMed S8 Compact . Does this one have the EPR feature? If so I may be interested in it.
I have gotten so used to the EPR/Flex that none of my backup units do me any good and I need to find another. As soon as I do find one these get sold.

I believe the S8 compact is the most basic of machines. No data and no EPR..at least from what I see here.

Scamp I have looked on several different sites and find conflicting info on the s8 compact. Some say it has EPR and others say it does not. Could you power it up and go thru the clinitian menu and see if there is anything about EPR on it?
Thanks
