Heater Humidifier Question

Post by BostonGal » Sat May 12, 2012 10:00 pm

I'm a new user with an S9 Auto and the heated humidifier. When I use the heater, I find it impossible to breathe. I find it suffocating. Does anyone else experience this?

My question is that I still go through the ritual of putting water in the humidifier, but I notice I'm not using any when I run it with out the heater. Am I getting any benefit from putting water in the humidifier if I don't use the heater?

Can you change the amount of heat used?

If you add water with the heater off you will get a little passive humidity. If you are using the Climateline it will keep the humidity at about 80%. If you go into the clinical menu you can change the humidifier to manual mode and set the humidity level yourself.

Here is a link to a video that will show you how to access the clinical menu. http://www.cpaplibrary.com/resmed-s9-autoset.html

THe video is halfway down the page.

Hope this helps ,

I had the same problem. The air was too hot.

Once you set manual mode, you can change the humidity independent of the temperature within some constraints.

I've got mine set for 2.0 humidity and 21 deg C (69 *F)
