Side sleeping and pillows??

Post by Jen516 » Sun May 06, 2012 7:17 pm

Thanks to so many of you who helped me figure out a plan to work through my sleep apnea. Currently I am on cpap but I recently found out that when sleeping on my side my sleep apnea is gone. So I have decided to try various pillows, etc to help me get on my side.

I'm doing lots of research online and have read about the zzoma, rematee etc that create a bumper to keep you from rolling on your back. Then there are pillows for your head like Sona and better sleep pillow which have a cut out for your arm to again help keep you on your side.

Before I shell out a few hundred dollars on pillows, I wanted to see if anyone here had any experience with any of these (or others) and your thoughts. (FYI I am not interested I sewing tennis balls on my back

Right now I am leaning toward the rematee (dr said this is what most of his patients prefer due to comfort) and the better sleep pillow.

Thanks in advance! Jen

I use a small buckwheat pillow. I like it in that I can move a few hulls around to reduce the effects on my pillow while on my side. Others have bought from: http://www.beans72.com/Intro.htm. I'm still using one I stole from my wife.

btw, I spent over $50 on one of those fancy CPAP pillow when first diagnosed. That was a big waste of money.

I'll be using buckwheat from now on. Good luck, Earl
