I see that ResScan software is no longer being offered for sale. How come?
I would think that the DME and doctors would want their customers to be actively monitoring their own progress. I understand that the ResMed S9 provides a lot of information to the user via their led screen. But does it report everything that ResScan does? What if you want to keep the information for a longer period of time?
Just seems strange. After all, ResMed charges for the software; it would seem to be in their interest (bottom-line wise) to provide it.
Just mark me confused
ResScan software no longer available?
Re: ResScan software no longer available?
ResMed stopped offering ResScan for sale to cpap users sometime in the summer of 2009 I think it was.
With the software there is a way for patients to change their own pressure and we are supposed to not be doing that..yeah, like we can't figure out the other way.
Respironics offers software for the patient for sale that doesn't have the ability to change the pressure.
They make money on it.
ResMed didn't want to come up with a software package that allowed viewing of data without ability to change the pressure. That's too bad. They could have made money.. Instead they do offer ResScan for free and you can get it but you have to agree to use it only under a doctor's supervision.
Their official position is that if you want more than what is shown on the LCD screen then you should have your DME or doctor get those reports for you.
There bottom line is that we as end users aren't supposed to be smart enough to evaluate what is seen on the reports.
If you don't have ResScan and want ResScan check out forum member Uncle_Bob signature line. There is a link there.
