SleepyHead link?

Post by jane1022 » Tue May 01, 2012 1:07 pm

Hello,

Would someone point me to where I can download SleepyHead? I lost all of the data on my hard drive
(including SleepyHead and my CPAP data). I'm starting over...

I have a MacBook Pro laptop and am running Lion (OS-X version 10.7.3).

Thank you!

Jane

Thank you so much!!! I love SleepyHead. The only thing that seems problematic is the way it handles Daylight Savings Time. Any idea whether this bug has been reported?

Yes it has been reported and a fix is in the works but not released yet. I think Mark is also working on PR S1 60 series machine compatibility issues and having it available also.

If you are having double sessions since DST change then you can turn off one of the sessions and things should correct themselves.

So Pugsy, what makes Sleepyhead better than what we were using? I am downloading it now so any pointers would be much appreciated.

One bug, it calculates everyday in the average pressure for 6 months or one year, even the days you don't use it. For the pressure that means if you have a gap in treatment it lists the average pressure used far below what is correct. For example mine says 6 month average pressure is 3.96.

Better? Depends on what you need to qualify as better I suppose. It is small, fast and remarkably accurate. I can have SleepyHead all done and over with in the time it takes ResScan just to load....not counting the download time for the data. OMG ResScan takes forever.

There is a Mac version.. For a Mac user to use ResScan they must install a Virtual Windows environment..lots of work and for computer challenged people..too much work.
Remember, I am a lazy sort.

I do have ResScan available and I do use it but I find SleepyHead more easily managed. I can alter the graphs easier and I can see what I want to see...easier. Now someone with a lot of ResScan experience sure they can do the same.

ResScan is just like Encore Pro...a big bloated slow toad..

Pointers? Heck I don't know..poke around in all the preferences and the detail tabs and the event tabs and watch it zero in on a single event in a blink of an eye. Is it perfect? No..it has its bugs but they are minor and such is the life of Beta Software in its infancy.

If you have Windows 7 or Vista...install with administrator rights and you will avoid a minor annoyance with the updates. Not critical though. SleepyHead needs administrator rights to update or it will fail. One can simply open SH with the "run as administrator" command line and it works.

It is quick and much easier to bounce from detailed to detailed chart. I like the AHI events better in Resscan though but I can always use that on an as needed basis. Usually I am just looking at the leak chart anyway these days. If it stays under 24 most of the time and AHI is under 5 I am good to go.

I did turn off DST (by unchecking the DST box next to my Time Zone) but strange things continued to happen anyway--like, it was almost doubling the number of events and calculating the number of hours that I slept incorrectly--perhaps adding an hour; I can't quite recall (and now my data has been destroyed). Is there something else I should do to prevent the double sessions?

Thank you so much for the link. I downloaded SleepyHead and look forward to getting up and running!

Checking or unchecking the DST box won't help.
This bug has been fixed but has not been released yet. Mark is working on other stuff to include in the next release.
You can fix the double session thing..yeah it almost doubles hours asleep and events and messes with AHI by doing a quick little turn off of one of the sessions that you may not have even seen

Over in the details where the Pie chart is...scroll all the way down till you see the sessions shown. If you did not turn the machine off during the night...their will only be 2 sessions. Put mouse cursor over the box and click on it to turn it red..that session is now turned off and your data will all be as it should. I have compared it to ResScan and it works. I don't know if the one to turn off for you will be the top or bottom. If you turn off the wrong one you will know it because you quickly get the "you have a brick message" and the graphs disappear. Usually the session in error has the incorrect sleep start time.
