topaz chin strap

Post by blueeyes » Wed Mar 29, 2006 9:25 pm

I was wondering in anyone on here uses the topaz chin strap. It is made out of neoprene material. I keep getting rashes from the chin strap.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have to quit wearing the chin strap for at least 3 nights to get my chin to heal. Then I wear it again and might not break out for 2 weeks.

Hi Blueeyes,

I wear the Topaz chin strap. I like it. I have not had any problems with breakout. I believe the fabric is neoprene--have you had problems with other headgear from the same type of fabric? I would (hand) wash it well and rinse it even better and see if that helps. Also, do you wash your face before you go to bed? Is the break-out all over or just on face and chin? I wish you well. I think it's a great chin-strap (the only one I've seen that looks like it will stay on) and hope you can find a way to use it. Good luck--let me know how it goes.

neoprene chin straps

I have a neoprene allergy and can't have neoprene on my skin because it gives me a rash. Sounds like you might have a neoprene allergy too.
So I bought some cheap stretchy cloth headbands and hook one around my jaw and twist the other one under my lip.
this works for me and no rash!
good luck!

Looks like my RESMED strap is the cause of my irritation to the back of my ears & the nape of my neck. Glad i am not alone.
