Finally!!!!!

Post by lottaj » Thu Apr 26, 2012 7:46 pm

I have been approved and I go on Monday @ 9:30 am and pick up my machine. I believe my nurse told me I will be receiving the ResMed S9....Is this a good machine?

If it is the Elite, yes. If there is any mention of Escape in the name, that is exactly what you should do! Insist on the Elite because you will find you want to know how well the machine is working for you. The Escape will only tell you how many hours you have used it. Not helpful to anyone except the DME who wants to get paid by the insurance company.

You want the Elite or the Autoset. You do not want anything that says Escape.

Autoset is the top of the line with the Elite below that.
Diagnosed 08/31/10. Titration 9/02/10. Started CPAP 11/01/10. Auto mode 10-15cm. Alternate mask GoLife for her. Back up mask Full-life full face w/Pad-a-cheek mask liner. Comtec CMS F50 wrist pulse oximeter. Sobakawa Cloud Pillow, Sleepyhead software

Hold Everything! time for a little homework! Read Janknitzs excellent blog about DMEs. http://maskarrayed.wordpress.com/what-y ... me-part-i/. ,S9 Elite or S9 Autoset are fully data capable machines, don't accept anything with Escape on it. You may want to look at other manufacturers. You will want to understand how your insurance will cover this, are there deductibles or co pays? a rental period? "They" are not giving you a machine, you are the customer, you are paying for it one way or another, you have choices. Take your time and get the right machine for you , shop around if you need to, no one cares as much about your health as you do. Kathy

So grateful for this site...I knew to ask what data information it would give. She said it will give AHI - Leaks so I ruled out Escape but I will make sure it is not the Escape
