Not needing cpap

Post by RAMBLINMAN » Wed Mar 29, 2006 6:08 pm

Hi All,

Has anyone ever or heard of anyone that ever was not needing to be on cpap treatment anymore after they been on cpap for a period of time.

Or is it safe to say that once you've been diagnose it's forever....?

I tried to talk my doctor out of going for sleep study and going on the CPAP by telling him I'd loose weight and work out and I'm sure several other things. He said great, but, until I do it, I need to be on the CPAP because of the stress to my body caused by the sleep apnea. He said if it is caused by weight - I could probably get off it. If not, then my choices were to stay on it or undergo surgery. He also said that if I looked at surgery, to be careful because the surgery doesn't always work.

I read in a article that weight is not the only factor, if your neck is over 17 inches in diameter you are at risk even if you are not overweight.
my DR told me that i am on cpap for life.

The only way out is the Pine Box treatment, and Swimming In De-Nile.
