I hate CPAP.

I'm not a newbie but I did find it helpful to hear that other people did not adapt to c-pap immediately as I have been trying since 2006! I have accepted it as best I can but it is still very hard. My dr. wanted me to have the surgery (UPPP) in 2007,saying that I had failed c-pap,
which made me much worse. I now have to live with the fact that I can't stop the force of air from coming back out of my mouth! I have to do the best I can but don't sleep much.
Not everyone is lucky enough to adapt to c-pap.

Thanks for sharing, that's really valuable. Like you we just have to live with it, at least we're still here to complain about it!

Now it works ok, but still not as well as I would like. I think this is as good as it will get, and I can live with that as it's better than the alternative.

Setting unrealistic expectations helps no-one and can be counterproductive. That is my point in a nutshell.
I despise it when my comments are misrepresented and misconstrued to support a side of an opinion. It's one of my major pet peeves in life. Something *I* HATE.

Please tell me WHERE I said that cpap is so wonderful or that anyone should feel that way. I dare you. I NEVER said that.

I said (in different words but since you can't understand those, I'll try simpler ones) you have to make the best of the situation (never said it was good). There's a lot of uncomfortable and horrible things in this world. Everybody has to deal with something in their lives that they do not like (hate) and dwelling and complaining about it only makes it that much harder to accept (not love).
You (and others) want people to only post positive messages, in the belief that it will encourage people. I say you're wrong, it had the opposite effect with me.

I don't expect you to agree with me.

Do NOT tell me what I want. You have no right to believe that you have any understanding whatsoever of what those of us with better attitudes want.

I just don't like people that want to whine and bitch and then get pissed off when people try to help them see the positive.

I WAS very nice in my first response to you and gave you a very gentle dose of tough love. Incredibly gentle and more gentle than I give my children.

Anything other than agreement with you got lost and that does NOT do anybody on this board any good.

Negativity breeds more negativity.

Because it APPEARS that all you WANT is people to agree with you how much cpap sucks. And most people on this board just will not give in to that mentality. It's counterproductive to successful therapy AND peace.

You're right about that. My point has always been to say he's right -- cpap sucks. Most of us don't love it, but we've accepted it. He's twisted everything I've said to make me look like a bad guy.

And he's managed to get many of us regulars arguing about our methods of supporting people like him.

It takes an awful lot to make me mad enough to cuss someone out -- I never even got this nasty with calist.

That says an awful lot.

I think it's time for OP to be placed on my foe list, something I almost never do. I just hope his negativity doesn't suck in any newbies and make it harder on them than it needs to be.

Take a big breath Maddie..........................breaaaaattthe...now turn off your computer or do like I am now going to do and get off the forum and do something else. As you will remember with calist, its not worth the aggravation. There are too many folks on here that do need and appreciate the help that has been passed on over the years, for us to bash our heads against the wall with someone that only wants to incite.

SU - indeed there is a low/no carb version of homemade pizza that would/will make your toes curl! Don't be put off what the crust is made off - neither you, nor any of your 'tasters' will even guess at the base. Not only is it very low carb, it tastes delicious! You can come up with your own toppings - we like BBQ chicken.

Forget the sweetness and light.
His agenda is that he wants every one on the hate band waggon. The fact that that attitude is not at all useful for most people is irrelevant because it doesn't meet his version of reality.

The reality is that on this board there are far more people that have issues with xpap therapy also escapes him. He doesn't want to hear or acknowledge that anyone has a different experience then him.

He is the "Don't confuse me with facts, my mind is made up" kind of person.

I'm sure many or most of the people hate the CPAP. I know I do. But, I sleep better and feel better and almost don't want to go to bed without it. I have been using this for 2 years and it took me several months to get used to it without tearing it off in the middle of the night. The best part for me is that my sleep doctor is an expert since he also has apnea and has to wear this thing. He told me there is no problem going camping for a few days or even taking a vacation without the machine unless I really want to take it with me. So get used to it and when the occasion arises, just leave it off for a night. Just don't go too long without it.
