If it does not record full data I would not accept it.

Really glad I found this place. Almost exactly my scenario. After a titration sleep study, I get a call from a company wanting to deliver a machine and telling me how much of a check I should have ready, instead of my doctor. I left a message for my doctor, I want to know what I'm getting into, and his return message is, you should be hearing from them about a machine.

I feel like I'm on a conveyor belt in a factory!

Typical doctor....writes the order /Rx for the cpap equipment..

Normally it goes like this...cpap machine...heated humidifier...and for mask either he mentions the one used in the titration study or if he is real adventurous he says mask of patient's choice.
Normally he has zero idea what the DME supplies unless he has his hand in the DMEs back pocket. So he couldn't answer you if you asked. He like is good a diagnosising stuff but no much experience in the trenches.

Then the DME picks there list expensive model and says this is what you doctor ordered.
Lie #1. Technically it fits the requirement because the doctor set no requirements
There are more lies unless you get lucky with at DMe who knows that if you give the best up front you get happy cpap campers that come back for all their other stuff that is horribly over priced,

Know exactly which ones have full efficacy data...accept nothing less. Don't get snowed by "it must collect data it has that little SD card....yeah it collects hours of use data and that is all...so beware.

DME guy just left, and he was extremely nice and helpful. Not sure if I got a "brick" or not. It's the Phillips Respironics REMstar Pro C-Flex + Auto IQ. Not as scary and oppressive as what I was expecting. Setting is a 8 and I got a full face mask, which is what I was expecting.

I thought the IQ had been mentioned in this thread...

For all its faults, at least the IQ reverts to a full efficacy data PR System One Pro once those 30 days of Autotitration are used up.

There are far worse machines that you can get stuck with: The PR System One Plus and the PR System One DS150---a machine so basic it doesn't even have exhale relief, let alone full efficacy data.

The PR System One Pro CPAP and auto IQ...is a full data machine and you have software choices available.
I recommend giving SleepyHead a try first. It is the simplest and easiest to use. I have links in my signature line. Be sure to read them all even the glossary as it will explain the terminology you will see in the reports.

The IQ part of this machine means it has the capabilities of being used in auto mode (as APAP) for 30 days.
The 30 days can be intermittent or all in one bunch. It all depends on how it is setup.
The auto mode may or may not be something you might need or want full time.. The disadvantage to this model is the limited 30 day auto mode with auto adjusting pressures. If you don't need auto adjusting pressures full time for some reason...then it is not an issue.
If you happened to need more pressure for supine sleeping or REM stage sleep event..it could be an issue.
It might mean using higher pressure all the time with CPAP mode vs higher pressure sometime in APAP mode.

Otherwise it is a great machine. Full data and as long as you are aware of that one limitation, you got a very good machine. Lots of people use straight cpap machines with excellent results and some people actually do better on straight cpap machine. The nice thing about a full time APAP...it also can be used in straight cpap mode so all bases are covered.

I love my autoset. My pressure is a little different every night, but it's always lower than my old Elite was set for.
I believe the straight cpap mode is a little quieter--but both machines are very quiet.

The DS150 was the lovely brick I was given when I started therapy a year ago. Then I found this forum and fought for a machine with efficacy data. It took almost 4 months, but in the end they gave me an S9 Autoset.

Its hard. You feel vulnerable and want to be taken care of. But you need to be tough and make decisions.

All sick people need a really good thinking "counselor" of sorts. If you have a trusted friend whos very smart, get them involved in
these decisions. Dont go it alone, and dont trust someone wanting to sell you something more than they want to help you.

Are those Daleks or shuttlecocks? Welcome to the fold!

I use the same machine. It is the only one I know personally, but I am happy with it. Every morning I load the data from my CPAP, my Zeo and my Oximeter into homegrown software to see what kind of night I had. I think of it as my new hobby.

I am so happy I saw this thread. This morning I had a "brick" and this afternoon, I was upgraded to a machine that sounds really great! Thanks for the insight!

First night tonight... wish me luck!
