Wow, from me extreme to another
Im so glad that I found this forum as it really help me to adjust to cpap and picking the right machine. I was diagnost with extreme apnea 2 weeks ago with an AHI 122 and o-sat in the 70s. Since the first night with cpap, I went from 123 to AHI 0.2!! I got to say, I'm staring to haven emotional attachment to my machine.

Some people name their machines.
I'm still waiting until I think of something cute enough.

Hi,
Those are scary bad numbers. The AHI is even worse than what I had, and your O2 is only slightly higher than the 68% that I had. That is the kind of thing that can send you to an early exit if left untreated.
Scoring an 0.2 is pretty amazing and worth celebrating, so you get get a gold star for the day. Let's hope that this is the start of a really good trend for you.

Joyja, that is AMAZING! My fiance got down to 64% percent O2, and good lord, those numbers in the 60's and 70's are especially terrifying. I am so glad that XPAP is doing amazing things for you, and I think you're going to be so much healthier and happier on it. Congratulations!!!
And as far as emotional attachment, good for you! These are the machines that allow us to live well. I love the one that keeps my fiance alive more than almost anything, and I'm pretty fond of mine as well. My dad, who's been a PAPster since 1984, calls his BiPAP his "baby blanket" because it's become such a source of emotional comfort for him. He says just putting it on puts him in a good mood, ha! And this is a man who resisted wearing it for almost ten years. It's funny what happens when you tweak the pieces to work for you. And just last week, my dad's cardiologist told him that there was no way he'd still be alive and kicking if he hadn't become such a devoted XPAP user. That emotional attachment can be a pretty great force for good.
I will probably end up naming mine too, because everything I am fond of gets a name eventually, but we're still in the "getting to know each other" stage.
Welcome to the forum, and to PAP-land. May they keep you well!

The tech who did my sleep study seemed pretty concerned with my AHI of 37 and Osats down to 80. I think she would have fainted with your numbers!
I'd say "adjusting" to nights with a hose on your face won't be a problem for you - ^5!
