Getting my CPAP in 1 hour, I hope !!!!

Post by NoSlak » Tue Mar 28, 2006 2:29 pm

I have 74 events per hour and have sever APnea I have been told.
Tech will be here in about an hour with a Remstar Pro 2 , heat humidifier and a Mirage Swift pillow.
To bad I could'nt get the Autopap but I think I will be talking to the docotr about that from what I have read on these forums.
I am now worried if they didn't get teh pressure right (15) or somthing may not work. I woke up a buncha times last night from stopping breathing.
Can you guys tell me if my machine is OK ??
Should I keep it ? How would I get rid of it if I want a different one?
The Doctors Aide said that Auot Cpaps dont go as high as 15 which I think is BS.
Will I be less tired tomorrow night ??
ANy questions answered would be greatly appreciated!!!

The "Doctor's Aide" needs a little more "aid".....all standard CPAPs and APAPs will go to 20. The Bi-PAPs will go beyond that.

The REMstar Pro 2 is a good machine......the one I use. It captures virtually all the same sleep data that the APAP does. It's a "keeper" if you can't talk them out of an APAP.
Make sure they're giving you a brand new machine if you're buying it.

It's not hard to check the pressure setting......should show up in the little window on top of the machine.

Did you get to pick out the Mirage Swift pillow or did they select that for you?

Good luck.

NoSlak, I have the REMSTAR Pro-2 as well, great machine. I noticed that you did not mention if you where also getting the heated humidifier. You'll need that because if not that cold air will dry you out and cause you a serious sore throat. Thats my experience anyway.

Good luck!

Woke up and 1 hour had passed, I was awakened only becauseI heard my wife open the front door and the doggies started yappin.
