I also used to use a buff -- hair in a loose ponytail with the buff over my head (they sell them at my local REI). It kept my hair neat without flattening it. Though my new deluxe chin strap seems wide enough to go the job for me. I put it on before my mask, and then put the mask straps over the wide chin strap. That seems to keep the pressure points and tangles to a minimum.

On a tangentially related note, I have a friend who is a cosmetic surgeon, and he LOVES my chin strap. It is similar to compression garments he recommends for people to keep their necks/jaws firm. His view is, since we are sleeping with straps/accessories anyway, might as well take advantage of the benefits. So he suggested putting on a really good night cream or moisturizing masque, a layer of saran wrap, our chin straps or buffs, then our masks, and sleeping with all of that. Sort of like an overnight facial.

Score one for vanity! I'm all about the silver linings.

I generally have pretty cooperative hair. When I take my shower, I dampen down the part of my hair that is "out of order" and then blow dry. Usually doesn't take more than a minute.

The next morning it's flat as the proverbial flitter and sticking out where it shouldn't be sticking out. How do you solve the hair problem? I have to go to work and don't like to have to spend forever trying to get my hair too look decent.

Thanks, the nap ster for the hint about the chin lift. I just knew that there had to be an advantage to using CPAP!
