Power consumption issue....

Post by Apneic Nation » Mon Mar 27, 2006 3:02 pm

I just got my power bill today. It was $20 more than last month, the only difference in my power usage is my Remstar plus c-flex. I've been using it for about 5 weeks now. Anyone else out there have this much of an increase when starting cpap use?

At $0.08/kwh the CPAP would have to draw about 1,000 watts on average for 9 hours/night in order to increase your electrical bill by $20/month. So unless you pay an unusually high rate per kwh that seems too high by about a factor of three with a heated humidifier and a factor of five or more for just a CPAP.

If that was the cause your HH would be glowing red. The money hungry power grubers must have raised your cost, they did here some, but nothing compared to the Natural Gas increase. Jim That's just life, pay up!

here in new york I have paid as hig as .25 per kwh, and it adds up. I don't think it has ever bewen as low as .08 in my life
There is a formula to calculate usage and it is considered a legal medical tax deduction. So depending on your cost it could increase your bill,
