Water in mask and hose??

Post by esangston » Wed Apr 04, 2012 12:34 am

Woke up the other day and thought my face was sweating from my mask. When I took it off, i had a small pool of water in my mask, we're talking like maybe 1/8 of a cup, but enough to kinda freak me out a lil. Then I hung my hose up to dry and more water came out. I'm thinking the tubing isn't keeping the water warm enough to keep the humidity? It's been hotter here so weve been running the air so it's been a lil chilly but only by 1-2 degrees than normal. I thought maybe it was because my hose goes thru my headboard to keep it from tangling up at night, so its not level, it goes up from my machine about 6in and then down my pillow.

Opinions?

Ive never had that much water in my mask before, but that was also the first night I slept with cpap for longer than 4 hours. Yeah I'm still waking up and taking it off lol... I was getting better about it, then I went on to visit family for 5 days and forgot the hose at home. Came home used my machine and I'm back to the horrible cough, elephant on my chest, and the worst sinus pressure you could imagine. I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong with my hose and or the positioning of it and the water vs humidity is possibly kicking my rear?

Yes, I'm married to man with a bad case of narcolepsy. And yup, I have 3 kids under age 4... Adding OSA just seemed like the right thing to do! :-)

Switch to a lower humidity setting, or if insurance covers it, try to get one of the new models from Repironics as your new machine. They have a new technology for their humidifier.
