hello
i have been having trouble with putting on masks, an idea come to mind if i can put a little baby oil or lotion on my face just so the mask wont be irritable during sleep, cause my face dries up and it itches after a while.
Thanks
mask fit question
Re: mask fit question
Don't do that because it will affect the mask cushion, but look up Pad-a-Cheek and get one of their liners very inexpensively... many people use them as buffers between the mask and themselves and find them helpful.

+1 on Pad-a-Cheek! Made of durable microfiber fabric so they can be washed and used for many months and are very comfortable to wear.Julie wrote:Don't do that because it will affect the mask cushion, but look up Pad-a-Cheek and get one of their liners very inexpensively... many people use them as buffers between the mask and themselves and find them helpful.

Re: mask fit question
Clarifying something the others have posted:
The reason they're saying to stay away from the baby oil or lotion is that both mineral oil and petroleum jelly are particularly hard on the silicon that is used in the mask seals. And mineral oil and petroleum jelly are often the main ingredients in baby oils and facial lotions.
The mask liners should help. But you can also use non-petroleum, non-mineral oil based lotions as well. For small spots of irritation, a bit of Lansinoh lanolin cream (sold to nursing mothers for sore nipples) is good. Or some shea butter. For facial lotion, I've had good luck with something called Thentix skin conditioner. It's a bit expensive, but a little goes a long way and it's petroleum-free.
