compliance concern: pulled mask off in night

Post by forgetcolor » Tue Mar 27, 2012 8:23 am

so last night was day 28. ive been 100% compliant before it, w 27/27 days over 4 hours (avg abt 7.1). last night i needed an ambien because i had to go to sleep very early (for me). woke up 7 hours in and the mask is off. meter says i wore it .9 hours. not enough time left to get it up to four.

are they going to make me start my 30 day clock over again? should i let my doc and tech know?

worried and frustrated

From what I've read, and from my own insurance company, compliance is 70% of the nights for 4 hours. One night should be no problem.

My insurance said that i have to be 70% compliant, 21 out of every 30 days. All insurance is different though. I'm almost all compliant. One night i fell asleep on my couch, came to bed, put the mask on and slept JUST under 4 hours. The machine said 4.0 but it rounded up, i needed about 9 more minutes! Oh well.

No. One night is not going to make or break the deal. No need to worry since the rest of the time you have met compliance. No need to alert anyone.

Ok, along the same lines.
I try to keep mine one. However, I have had EXTREME heath issues over the last few years. And I am trying to get back on track. Broken machine isn't really helping. But anyway.

I rarely sleep more than 4 hours a night at the moment. My doc wishes I would take something to get me through the night but I fear not waking up for work in the morning (which has happened this year). Do I notice a difference with cpap. Yes. Even when it is below the recommened amount. Hopefully over the summer I can get back into the swing of things and up my hours of sleep. But until the school year ends and I get off prednisone I am afraid it isn't going to happen.

As I am trying to get my new machine I am hoping this isn't going to be an issue.

I too like to remove my mask in my sleep. Very irritating, wake up with lousy headache when I do.

Lisa

There is a big gap between compliant and therapeutic.
You want therapeutic--you already know how good it can feel.
Good luck.
