42 days--still having EDS
After 42 days on new cpap machine and setting at 15 instead of 10, I'm still getting very sleepy during the day. I take naps during morning and afternoon and I'm back to snoozing during TV shows and church. The first two weeks were wonderful. I was full of energy and not sleepy during daytime--the CPAP honeymoon. Then all the EDS slowly returned. My AHI average is a decent 3.2. But I notice that last week they've been creeping up to 5,6, and even 7 one night. Then, just to confuse me, my AHI was zero during a 2 hour nap yesterday. I sure wish I knew what was going on. I care more about my EDS than AHI number. Will I ever feel like I did during those first two weeks?

Hi - it's very possible your losing air through your mouth once you're asleep, especially if your pressure is on the high side as it apparently is, so you may want to look into full face masks, or at least a chin strap (not as effective) or taping for a few nights to look at the possibility.

Re: 42 days--still having EDS
I already tried a chin strap. I hated it. Just too much on my head with all the headgear. I tried a Band-aid over my mouth for two nights. My leaks have been generally low. I notice on my graphs that when my AHI creeps up during the night, my "leaks" go up for a short time. I take this to mean that I open my mouth when I struggle to breath. So I put a Band-Aid over my mouth for two nights. Data was fine but I still had EDS and dry mouth in the morning. The humidifier still had water in it. But I didn't see any significant leaks in my data. It's a puzzle right now.

Hi there, i have found when my AHI goes up to 5-7 then its time to change the cushion on my full face mask. I'm 75 nights in or so and the last time my AHI was around 7, i needed the new cushion.

That sounds kind of like me... Down, down down as I adjust. Hit low AHI's! Wahooo! CPAP HONEYMOON! OK, now we are married, then up up up with a lot of variance (scatter in my AHI's)

At the risk of sounding like Ms. Obvious, how many hours do you sleep each night, and do you have many wakeups? And do you move around much during the night?

Re: 42 days--still having EDS
I sleep 8-10 hours per night with one bathroom break during the night. I've been on CPAP for 12 years so I think my body doesn't move around much. My bedding doesn't look like I've been through a whirlwind in the morning. Both dog and cat are usually by my side when I wake up. If I can't fall asleep and constantly change position they evacuate the bed. So no, I don't think I'm doing more than normal amount of position changes.
After my two naps yesterday and still feeling very tired, I slept for 11 hours last night.
