I am fairly new to CPAP. I am getting some good results so far with nightly AHI reading under 1. I do, however, feel like I am adjusting for leaks (or completely resetting the mask) too frequently. According to my Sleepyhead stats, my average leaks are fairly low (under 10).
How often do you guys find yourself adjusting your mask at night? Should I be looking for another mask or just get something like a mask liner? Are my expectations too high? I would lust like to sleep through the night for once.
I tend to toss and move alot at night sleeping on both sides and my back during the night. The quattro FX mask I have seems pretty comfortable, but I have never tried another mask, so I have nothing to compare it to.
Thanks for your help.

Running the S9 Autoset in APAP mode at 4-13. Original sleep study showed 73.5 AHI
Re: Typical leaks
With an AHI of 1 and leaks under 10, I wouldn't worry about adjusting ...unless you are uncomfortable . If you are feeling good when you wake up, don't worry about the leaks. Your CPAP will adjust for minor leaks...your low AHI shows that.

Re: Typical leaks
If mask issues are disrupting sleep (even if leak is low) the issues need to be addressed or a different mask needs to be tried. You have a right to expect to be able to sleep through the night and this part of your expectations are quite reasonable.
Anything that causes sleep disruption or fragmented sleep needs to be worked on.

Re: Typical leaks
When I was starting out, I had to readjust often. Not only did my QFX move around and leak, I often had to take it off and readjust the velcro. Moleskin on my nose helped a little, but it wasn't until I got medium headgear instead of large that things started to work. The medium was actually too small at first, but it stretched out, and the large was always too big and only got bigger. Being a noob, though, it took me a while to figure this out.
If you're fussing with your mask a lot, then either it's not set up right to begin with, or it's just not the right mask for you. But what you're going through is pretty typical. It takes most people quite a bit of trial and error to get to the point where they can just put their mask on and sleep through the night with no serious leaks.
To complicate matters, the headgear changes when it's new, hence even if you get it right, it might not stay that way for more than a week or two. Once the headgear is broken in, though, it stretches very slowly and doesn't need so much attention.
