S9 Filter

Post by do57672 » Thu Mar 01, 2012 8:28 pm

I just received my first replacement filter for my s9 Autoset. It is considerably thinner than the filter that came with the machine new. I'm sure this is fine and its probably even ok to run the thing without a filter, but I was just curious if anyone had noticed that or maybe they gave me the wrong filter. No big deal really just wondering.
Thanks

Do you like this machine? I am waiting to be set up with my first cpap machine. Just wondering what you like and dislike about this machine and it features. Does it give you a lot of info on how you did the night before? Is it easy to read/figure out?

Hi friend, if filter is thinner, then you could alway's use two for piece of mind. Only way to truly know is, contact whomever distributes your filter. All my filters have been the same size S8,. Wishing you well on your journey.

Thanks Spirit. There were 2 in the pack so i thought about just using both of them to equal roughly the size of the one I'm replacing.

Hey baprater. I've only had it for a little over a month and I'm new to all this...but this machine is pretty dang on cool (as far as CPAP's go) I definitely don't like wearing scuba gear to sleep but if you got to this is the one you want (in my opinion) Its the Cadillac model. Its very quiet and kind of cool looking. You can even get skins to cover it (sports teams, etc)... It gives you alot of info on the screen but you should watch the 7 or 8 videos about it on cpaphelpdesk.com to learn more. I downloaded Sleepyhead & Resscan software the day I got it and check my data frequently. The graphs on Sleepyhead are very easy to understand if you are curious to see what happens while you sleep. The machine can tell you down to the second what & when events happen while you sleep. Good luck. This is a great forums....I checked 3 or 4 forums when I started cpap but I think this is by far the best. People are funnier, nicer, & smarter

Also if you go with the Resmed S9 you want to make sure you get the elite or the autoset. They are fully data capable while the escape & escape auto only check compliance. I lucked up & got the autoset but from what I've read on the forum they all are billed under the same code so you should be able to upgrade without much trouble if the stick you with a "brick" but I'm not 100% sure on that. Good luck.

Can someone give me the link to the ResScan download? I have the autoset Resmed S9 fully data capable. Everytime I google it all I get is the board messages about it and nothing that gives me the actual link to it. Thanks!

You might also give SleepyHead a try. I have links for it in my signature. I find it a bit easier to manage than ResScan but try them both to see which one you prefer to use.
