Resmed S9 maskfit feature is brilliant!

Post by Matty332 » Tue Feb 28, 2012 6:02 am

G'day,

I was speaking a few days ago on how my mask was leaking like a siv and I was waking my wife up with 'face farts' and airport sounds - I was worried because my AHI was going up. Well using the excellent advice from the contributors on this forum I was able to resolve the problem. I just want to thank everyone providing advice on the Quattro mask fitting thread - thanks!

I have been using the RESMED S9 mask fit feature that I did not know about until after that thread and I must say it is a brilliant feature isn't it? It ramps your pressure up hard straight away so you can test your mask fit before going to sleep. It is also so true about keeping the upper straps a bit lose so the pillow can inflate sufficiently to seal on your face and to have the lower straps tighter so the mask doesn't ride up into your mouth. I set it up and leave the mask on my face whilst reading in bed with the tube not plugged into the mask. When it is lights out I plug her in, turn around and fall asleep. Thanks everyone.

I'm having the same problem. how did you fix it? I find when I don't have the upper straps tight the air whisles quite a bit. what part of the mask can inflate? I think I'm missing something, lol

Mary, the whole cushion should evenly inflate and rest on your face. It can take some practice to get the right tension on the straps. Have you reviewed the instructions and video about how to fit the FX?

Thank you for the info. I checked it out and I've been putting it on in the wrong order. I've been putting it over my head first then sliding the mask down on my face. I'll be taking short nap in a it and I'll try it the way it is suposed to be used and see if I have better luck. thank you
