Got an email from cpap today with this new machine announcement: https://www.cpap.com/productpage/pr-sys ... -tube.html
Yes, that blue eyed beauty is my cat! He is a seal point, bi-color Ragdoll. I adopted him in '08 from folks who could no longer care for him. He is a joy and makes me smile each and every day.

If I were in the market for a new machine I would definately be looking a this one. I like the fact that you can adjust the percentage of humidity independently with the temp. Nice feature. The hose routing is also better than the resmed.

That machine looks awesome.

Does anyone kind of know the insurance guidelines for how often you can get a new machine? I have Cigna Blue.

My insurance is 5 years for a new machine. You will need to check with your coverage or call your insurance to find out for sure what yours is.

On Screen Data Display

Sleep data is available on the display screen of the System One 60 Series Auto CPAP machine. See the Apnea/Hypopnea , leak rate Index as well as the 7 and 30 day average pressure readings.
Finally I can't believe it but it's good if it's true I mean, if I'm understanding well

I can't buy one, I have already 2 System ones

Same here. The heated hose is why I went with the S9, had this been out I would have probably gone with PR.

That is probably correct for most companies. I wonder what happens if you change your insurance co after the payment for the machine was completed - do they still try and hold you to the 5 years, or is it worth trying to get an upgrade with the new company? I am not planning on changing again in the near future, so the new one would have to last 5 years ...

Actually I was successfull at doing that when I switched from Blue Shield to Cigna two years ago. I am now on my wif'es plan at UHC but I haven't seen any leaps on the S9 yet.
It's been two years since the S9 came out. I would think they are do for something new!

Besides the humidifier and heated hose, it would be useful to know if there are any other changes/improvements to the PR S1... changes to the algorithms, for example? Thanks in advance if anyone comes across any info in this regard...

Well, since I am a dyed in the wool Resmed fan I hate to say it - but - Respironics has been pretty good about responding to end-users' desires: patient oriented software, rid of the blue lights and now the humidity adjusting hose .... and anyone who has used an S1 will attest to the brilliance of that rotating hose attachment at the humidifier. Where Respironics has been slowest to respond is access to limited data via the LCD screen and it sounds like their engineers finally cleaned the wax outta their ears and the light bulb finally came on in their beady brains in that regard.

IF PR really has finally wised up and provided EASY ACCESS to as much nightly data as the Resmeds, given the rotating hose attachment I just may ending switching my allegiance and love to the PR PAPs!!!!! The ease of access to and amount of data issue is the thing that has earned and held my devotion to the Resmeds.

I know what you mean, Pugsy. I waited and waited for a Resmed S9 VPAP Auto to come out and finally gave up and got a PR S1 BPAP Auto ..... no more new PAPs for me for awhile either .... *sigh*

Hey, Hades, until you've actually had the opportunity to use a PAP w/that swivel hose attachment you really can't appreicate what a GREAT asset it is!!! It really is a GREAT feature!
