Regarding the "breath stacking" issue I've made a recent discovery. Occasionally I wake up with my Aura headgear shifted such the nasal pillows are leaking slightly. This seems to cause the c-flex to make the transition back to normal pressure out of sync with my breathing. If I adjust the interface to stop the leaking my machine immediately syncs with my breathing. My conclusion is that the slight leak at the interface fools the c-flex response trigger.
Thoughts anybody??

Just curious what your "detrimental" experience was? I've been using a REMstar Plus with C-Flex for about 3 months now, and I'm not noticing anything negative.

This topic has been done over repeatedly here.
CFlex clearly works well for some & causes some challenges for others.
Speaking for myself, once I got used to how it worked I found I was better able to use it but early in my use of it I attributed bad aerophagia to it as I found that by turning it off, the aerophagia while not going completely, was greatly relieved. In fact on many occasions when others were reporting particular symptoms (such as 'mouth pops', 'severe aerophagia'), I would suggest they turn off CFlex & try without it & in each case the person involved reported distinct improvement.
For a short period of time I then became quite critical of CFlex, even called it a marketing gimmick, but then later I began using it again but always kept to lower settings & only used it with my f/f mask.
Today I regard it has a helpful facility that works for some & not others.
There is a trap (in xPAP therapy) we can fall into of assuming that because something works for ourselves, others must be mistaken

In this case, I am concerned since I know no one else who uses one of these things and it's the only one I have used. I'm not sure it's all ok - but I have no other frame of reference.
I'm running set at 16cm using the ramp starting at 5 with C-Flex. I tried with it off, and I was very startled by the difficulty with exhaling.
I fall asleep instantly, and my wife reports that she has not heard any sounds from me since I started using the machine. By the time I wake up, I have to verify that it's still working as I don't feel the pressure as much.
In general, I feel a lot better and have more energy. Of course, I was 10 years younger when this all started, so my energy level is naturally lower than what it was.
I've been reading the threads here and it seems that most are doing some "tuning" but so far so good for me.

There also the other side of the coin that something that appears to work for many may not always work the best for the individual. That was my point is to be open to all points of view and have the wisdom to find what is best for you. I wish that some of the issues I had did not take as long to find the answers.

This can be a very truthful statement. However, the C-flex does have 3 levels and can be turned off. I found that with a full face mask (flexifit 431) I could have the C-flex turned onto the most exhalation relief (3) yet with the activa I need to set the C-flex to the lowest setting (1) or that mask feels like it sucks to my face.
