Encor Pro

Post by raymort » Mon Mar 20, 2006 8:59 am

I have installed the encore Pro as per instructions, but have found the following problems that i could do with some help please.

When i install it as a network or single computer i lose my internet connection.
I have installed the application with and without a network and still do not get my internet connection. When i restore PC to before installation i get my internet connection back.
Has anyone else had this problem? and is there a solution?

Code: Select all

Just to clarify the connection, the adsl modem router shows that it is Synchronised with the line but the data flow is not on as indicated by the light on the modem.
Just a thought is it MS sql server application that could be the problem??

Raymort,

I could only imagine that a shared .dll is getting overwritten by the installer.

Is your DSL modem internal, USB or external with Ethernet?

So you connect to the router with an ethernet cable?
If your network connection stopped working then it must be messing with your network card. I would try installing encore, then remove the NIC in device manager and let windows redetect it and reinstall the drivers.
But to be sure your network is broken, go to a command prompt and ping the routers IP address...

Yes i do but the network it self stays intact its the browser and the connection from it to the internet is disabled. The modem part is syn to the phone line but the data flow is stopped as indicated by the green light on the modem. When i remove encore and sql it works fine, its at this point i cant understand what is being rewritten. TCP or any other protocol is being disabled by some aspect of the install process. I think its the MS sql database that may be the problem, does it have to have access to somewhere on the internet for it to work??.
