It would be for a number of reasons:

1. too tight?
2. reconfigure the 'angle' of insertion
3. try a little [less is better than more] lansinoh gell

Some so-called sleep techs tell the patient to "insert" a pillow up inside the nostril, instead of resting it gently, like a doll sitting on a little saddle.
Sometimes they send a patient home with only one size pillows--the wrong size
My Swift FX came with three sizes of pillows--so I was able to try the other sizes lying down, with pressure.
Few of these people use CPAP themselves--it is just a job. . .

I don't understand how these people get hired. I called the home office of my DME last week to ask a question. I answer I got from a so-called knowledgeable person would have made you laugh (or cry). If people don't use a computer or don't find these sites, what the h**l would they do? I've been lied to (as in you aren't allowed to access your own data), or not given a straight answer b/c they don't have a clue what the answer is!

Try to find a saline gel... Ayr sells one. It helped when I kept getting pimple like sores right inside my nose. Someone once suggested ky, but the ayr was cheaper and I didn't have to deal with looks from my husband lol.

Yes, I'm married to man with a bad case of narcolepsy. And yup, I have 3 kids under age 4... Adding OSA just seemed like the right thing to do! :-)

The last time I had a cold my nostrils got so sore I couldn't wear my nasal pillow mask. I read on this forum about using nipple cream with lanolin. It worked and healed my sore nose in less than 24 hours. You can find nipple cream on the isle with baby supplies and nursing mother supplies at most pharmacies. I have also seen it at my local supermarket.

The nipple cream I recommend is Lansinoh--it comes in a purple tube.
It is 100% purified lanolin. Lanolin does not react with silicone.
Don't buy products that contain petrolatum. It makes silicone go bad.

For soreness on the inside of my nose, I put Lansinoh on a Q-tip and coat the insides. Earl
