He barely uses meds prescribed to him, so he wouldn't use unsubscribed and u definately know it's not alcohol...SleepingUgly wrote:WHY is he not taking the daytime medication? What reason does he give for that?
What's his reason for not taking Xyrem?
And what's with this:
That doesn't sound like someone who is excessively sleepy...esangston wrote: He will come home after full day of work... Stay up all night... And then drive to work again.
Any chance he's using non-prescribed drugs or alcohol?
And he doesn't give me any reason for not taking either. I asked if they made him feel funny or something, he said no... "Then why won't you take them?" ...." What tv shows come on tonight"..... Yup that's all I get
I don't get it either... I think the way it works with him is that if he is just sitting there, watching tv, reading, basically anything that doesn't require movement, he's out within the blink of an eye. But when he's playing a video game, or like he was doing last night, rearranging and setting up multiple home screens on his xoom so every theme had it's own everything (lame excuse to lose sleep), he can stay awake... And even then sometimes when hes playing say blackjack or something, he's fallen asleep, I guess when he was waiting for the other person to take their turn...
I almost didn't want to think I was enabling him, but Ive been questioning it... When it comes to a lot of things like rxs and appts, I do take care of those things as he works til most places are closed. But it's not my job to make sure he's in bed in time and I've never done that beyond reminding him, "what time do you have work tomorrow". I've spent more hours being the b*tchy wife all men dread than I'd like.
But it seems my lack of caring lately has done something. I've been pretty much avoiding him all together lately... I told him there was no point in loving someone with a death wish and when I saw he cared for himself, I will care again. He went to bed at 11pm. He set his own alarms and locked up the alarm cage. He even asked where his nuvigil was, and put it in the cage with water. He went back to work today, but because she called him late, he just went in when he dropped off our daughter. Tomorrow is the first day he has a timeline. I guess we will see how it goes.
And yes a noncompliant narcoleptic can lose their license if theyve previously had an accident from falling asleep behind the wheel. Not sure if that stands true for all narcoleptics, I've never called the DMV to ask. He also has incredibly high blood pressure, he's had it most of his life, and on his narco meds, it's soooo much better... You'd think the threats of that would be enough too.... Nope...
