sleep doc prescribed S9 autoset for 2 weeks this was after 5 days on my elite(i felt worse after the five days). I am having trouble retrieving data. I am not a techno person i typically have to read and experiment several times before i get it. So please bare with me. The only thing i see on the screen is mask fit, type of hose, and total usage. I down loaded sleepyhead softwear but windows will not open the file for me. I do have an older computer(2004 windows XP).This may be easy for a lot of folks but its a brick wall for me.
I get so sleepy around 7.30PM its either sleep in chair without cpap or off to bed with cpap. Last night i woke up at Midnight (pressure on the screen was 18.2)with a bad leak, could not get the mask to seal so i took the mask off. i slept for 3 more hours without cpap. I know that i can only heal with the mask on.
The other variable is i have taken a medication for 17 years its not the only one i take but it is the only one that sedates. I have been working with my doc to reduce it some. So has anyone else had the double edge sword of sedation/sleep deprivation. Its early to say but the more time i spend on the machine the better. Perhaps more patients is in order here.

whew... you have a lot of statements/issues. First, you are on a lot of meds... and yes, they will affect your sleep therapy. Think about it... how could it not? One quick-fix... If you press the "I" button and at the same time press the down button... hold for three seconds, info on the screen will tell you:
-hours slept
-AHI
-leaky face (smile means your leak rates were ok and the frown means you had bad leak rates... I wanna' tase that frown-face sometimes)....

If you turn the round knob counter-clock-wise or to the left... a screen will come up and give you:
- hours slept
-AHI
-apnea incidences
-cental incidences
-actual leak rate

My puter at home is still broke... so I am not sure about the software side of the house. My curiosity about specific info wants me to get the software info, but I have learned to get by on the above info. Look for Uncle Bob's profile and download the clinical manual for the Elite or s9 model. It will give you more info on the machine. Keep it up and work every issue you have here... we will help (er... hep' as in "I'm jist tryin' to hep' you" as we say in Texas!! ) you.

The S9 machines have to be set to Sleep Quality...ON to be able to see the data on the screen.
The default setting for Sleep Quality is...Usage. This is a setting in the clinical menu.
Here are some instructions with pictures on how to get to the clinical setting menu and at the bottom is a video.
http://www.apneaboard.com/ResMed/ResMed ... Setup.html
The changes are not retroactive...if you make the change today it won't make prior nights data available to view..only subsequent nights.

To get ResScan software...look in Uncle Bob's signature line here memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=38643

For a video tutorial on ResScan http://montfordhouse.com/cpap/resscan_tutorial/

Unsure why your computer won't open and install SleepyHead. Which version did you get? The Beta 0.9.1 version should work. It is the most recent Is the filed zipped? Does it have a zipper on it? What choices do you get when you right click the mouse on the downloaded files?
Did you read the user guide on how to install it? I have link in my signature.

1.4 AHI is good. Anything below a 5 is good... below a 3 is great! Manage your leaks, get a comfortable mask and and educate yourself and you're on the road to feeling good, being healthy and all the other great crap that goes with proper sleep.
