S9 Autoset displaying inacurate data

Post by Dale92 » Thu Feb 09, 2012 6:21 pm

I have had my S9 Autoset only a few weeks and I noticed that the machine displays inacurate data on its display. I download the data to my computer and it is all correct but if I look at the machine's Sleep Report on its display it will show I only use the machine for an average of 1.8 hours a night for 1 night regardless of whether I have it set for 1 day 1 week or 1 month. I do not know how the machine can record the data correctly to its disk and then display incorrect data. I have no idea where the short night it displays is coming from unless it is showing one night I may have gotten up shortly after going to bed and then forgetting the rest of the night when I came back to bed.

When I get up in the morning if I look at the Sleep Quality info it will show the correct data on the display but if I go to the Sleep Report it will only show that one partial night which it has been doing for about a week now. I don't know if it is possible to reset the Sleep Report so it displays correctly?

Has anyone run into this problem? I would like to check my numbers in the AM without having to download the data to my computer.

Thanks for any input.

Dale

Have you tried pulling the plug for a few seconds? (cold reset?)

Any chance you work midnight shift and since the S9s day starts at noon your information is inaccurate? By this I mean that if you sleep from 10:30am until 6pm on a day off. It will show a 1.5 hour day.

If you've unplugged it and you don't sleep past the "reset" time, have you looked at the clinician's menu to see what time it's showing? The clock may be wrong.

Thanks for the replys! Yes I did unplug my unit and I made sure the time was correct, I also go to sleep the same time almost every night 9:30PM and get up at 5:30AM. The S9 displayed the info correctly for the first couple of weeks and then it was locked with the display only showing the data for the 1.8 hours no matter how long I slept.

I checked the numbers this morning and now I am showing the correct data. I have a bad cold and slept a little longer last night and it shows 9.5 hours of sleep and if I go to the Sleep Report I can now adjust the report to 1 day, 1 week or 1 month like before. I don't know what happened but what ever bug was in the machine it must have spit it out because it is displaying the data fine this morning.

I just couldn't understand why it would record the data correctly on its disk but display something entirely different on its screen. Oh well at least it is working now. I just hope it is not something that will come back to haunt this machine, especially after the warranty is off

Firmware bug causes the data on the LCD screen to get "stuck"...unplug and plug back in causes a "reboot" of the firmware just like we do when our computers get some cobwebs and act funny. Seems to be a sporadic occurrence.

Agreed Pugsy, that seems like the most logical thing to do. I have had issues with computers, CD players, blueray etc and that is usually the first thing I do. Must be this stupid cold I have been dealing with most of this week otherwise I would have unplugged it like you and Newbie Woman suggested. Normally when I get a cold the 1st couple of days are the worst and it gets better each day after but this week it is getting worse each day. I finally stayed home from work Friday and today to try and recharge my body.

Thanks again

Dale

hehe, I learned the hard way that basically, an xPAP machine is a purpose-build computer. I end up "rebooting" mine once a week when I do my weekly cleaning just to keep it from slipping into "data lock." Hopefully ResMed will correct for that in the next version.
