Post by reffus1881 » Sun Feb 05, 2012 7:40 pm

I popped a blister on the bridge of my nose today the problem is its still oozing water i have a band aid on it now that seems to help. Has anyone had this to has happen. I use a full face mask and worried about the water dripping inside the mask. My sleep is interupted 3 or 4 times a night as it is. Any suggestions?

I usually go without CPAP until the sore is healed. Not sure if this is a good idea for you; you'll have to weigh the consequences for yourself.

Mine usually heals within 3 days, though recently I've been using vitamin E and it heals within 2 days. I pierce the vitamin E and rub it gently on the sore. I do this on mornings that I don't have to go to work. I wash it off before masking up.

Have you tried a mask liner and/or putting a band-aid on your nose before a sore appears? Sometimes I do both and put a cotton ball under the band-aid too.

Good luck.

I am assuming you are referring to the bridge of your nose?

Try hanging your hose above your head. That alleviates the weight of the mask on the bridge of your nose AND the tugging of the hose on the mask as you move in your sleep.

Tip the bottom of your mask up somewhat as you place your mask on your nose and place the mask a skosh lower on your nose than were you actually want it. Both actions turn the edge of your mask cushion UNDER so that it isn't cutting into your skin.

Be laying down whilst donning your mask w/the PAP turned on to allow the mask cushion to fill w/air at the pressure you will be sleeping with.

Yes. If it's on the bridge of your nose. For me it's because I made the top straps to tight. Did you try to position the top of the mask a little higher or even lower. This might help.I use CPAP moisture therapy. It's a petroleum free skin moisturizer. Roks great.

Brand new cushions for my comfort gel Full-face try to give me a blister the first couple of days.
I just slap a band-aid spot on my nose and let the new cushion break itself in on that!
I've looked in the mirror at work and seen the silly-looking forgotten band-aid.
