Could someone please tell me, does sleepyhead support Phillips Respironics Remstar Plus C-flex?

The PR S1 machine that looks like the one in my profile? Click on link to see it.

SleepyHead does support the PR System One machine but unfortunately the PR System One Plus CPAP model number DS 250 or less..machine doesn't gather any data other than hours of use. No useful data at all. You would need at least the PR System One Remstar Pro CPap machine with CFlex model DS450 or higher, to have full data.

You can use SleepyHead but if you have the base model Remstar Plus machine...it will tell you how many hours you used it and nothing else.

How long have you had this machine?

I also have one of these basic machines. I have been hacking at the data on and off for a couple of weeks, and I think I am seeing more than just hours of use.

The file structure has only .000 files, no .001 or .002 or .005 files. I get one file every time I turn the machine off. Long sessions have big records, short sessions have short records. It looks like a header followed by 6 bytes of data for each event. Then there is a footer which may include the total duration.

Each of the "events" starts with "03", followed by a number which looks like a duration in seconds, multiplied by 10. After that I haven't been able to decode the events.

Typical event: "03B400023C00"

In the following header sample, the underlined data are (in order) record length, file name (same as sequence number) date and time the record was written, serial number (I have redacted to all 9's) something that might be total time, the events shown in parentheses, and then a footer which may also contain a total time.

02500000000200E4030000FBD21F4F76000300820000999999999901400002000003A21702B400(03B40002F000)(03780002B400) ... more events ...0100839F28

If anyone else has some information on this data format, I would be happy to share what I have found.

.000 do not include any events whatsoever..

It includes rough session times (not even accurate session durations)

All that's available is Pressure setting, C-Flex setting, Humidifier setting.. and that's it.

No scoring is carried out whatsoever..

so no count of apnea events/hypopneas/etc..

The extra sucky part is the hardware is very likely fully capable.. They just crippled the software

The PRS1 Plus lacks a hardware flow sensor, so it can't do a lot of the data collection the better models can.

Ok.. I take someone has verified this already? At the crummy data resolution PRS1 provides, they are using cheap junk anyway, so it wouldn't cost that much more.

I wonder if a digital USB/bluetooth spirometer could fill the gap for those cursed with these machines..

Thank you for the information. I understand why it can't record much of anything useful to therapy. I do believe the machine is recording something, probably leak data since it has a leak alarm that appears to work. Each night has a different number of data points.

I have an appointment in a couple weeks with my sleep doc and I am going to insist he prescribe a more capable machine.

Thanks again.

Presumably, the leak alarm says "I'm pumping air for all I'm worth, and get no back pressure."

By the way, I think ALL machines have a pressure sensor to generate the right pressure. The higher end machines have some form of flow sensor in addition.
