Hey Everyone...I slept through the night!!!!!

Post by oldgeezer » Wed Feb 01, 2012 6:06 am

6th night was the charm. A little nose spray (for my cold), a slight change in humidity setting, and a tweak on my mask fitting! TA DA! It has literally been years and years since I slept through the night without the use of Ambien. Even when I woke, I really didn't have the urge to rip that mask off my face! I've got to run to work, but can't wait to import the data to sleepyhead and see if anything was noticeably different. May need help in understanding the info though!

Woo Hoo!!! It gets easier! Don't get discouraged by occasional bad nights, we all have them. Even if the numbers don't look great yet, sleeping through the night is a huge step!

GREAT NEWS!

Yes, your brain is beginning to recognize the mask as "safe and normal" - just like your pajamas and mattress. That allows your brain to edit out the mask when you sleep and stop trying to get it off you =)

There's lots of folks here who can help with interpreting data, including a few folks who even write SleepyHead!

Keep going, and keep us posted.

That great night's sleep is why we all hang in there. It's like the best drug around. (Shhh. Don't tell or they will make it illegal!). You may still have some bad nights but now that you know what a good night feels like you can work toward the goal of making them all like that. Congratulations!

I slept well too (see my post about chinstrap over or under mask) This really helped me sleep. I know how excited you must be, I am too.
