How can I format/initialize Respironics card

Post by josephnyc » Tue Jan 24, 2012 8:47 am

I have a Auto-M machine and I was able to read data into Encore Pro but now the card won't initialize or write a new prescription.

Reader appears to be working (little green light goes on when I insert the card).

I see reference to a card format utility, but I can't find it.

Any suggestions?

Thank you,

Joseph

I never used the software to change machine settings. I always just made the changes at the machine level.
Unsure what you mean by the card won't initialize but I have the card utility file that you probably are looking for. It is used to erase the Smart card. Send me a private message with your private email address and I will send it to you as an attachment. I can't do attachments here at the forum.

It looks like the card simply stopped working -- can't write a prescription or initialize or erase from within Encore.

I'm hoping a reformat fixes it.

Thanks.

PM sent.

when I tell it to format, it says format starting and then never does anything.

Anyone have any ideas?

It may be a bad smart card. They are still available from suppliers. Your DME might have one laying around.

You can of course still change settings from the machine's LCD menu.

If you aren't getting any new data at all from the smart card and your computer isn't having a problem with the card reader then only thing left I can thing of is a defective smart card.

There have been all kinds of problems with the interface for these cards. I believe there was a Windows update that offered a driver upgrade that would cause the card not to work. Look and see if you've recently gotten a windows update for smart card readers. I presume you've shut the PC down and rebooted. Also, unplug the card from the PC and plug it back in. At one time, it would start working again if I plugged the card into a different USB port.

The driver being used is the MAKO DT3500 dated 6/30/08 version 2.0.0.7

I did have the most recent Win7 updates installed.

I've tried multiple times rebooting, replugging.

I tried the card reader on another machine with EP 1.8 and it works fine, so it does appear to be a Win7 issue.

I then found version 2.0.0.10 of the driver and installed that. But EP 2.x won't talk to the card (can't write a script or erase, etc.).

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Joseph

I can't figure it out.

Can anyone tell me if the infineer card reader works (reliably; for everyone) under win7?

Thanks
