Welcome to the forum.

Can you normally breathe through your nose just fine during the day? No bad nasal issues that make you a daytime mouth breather? Look at the mask that I use in my profile below this post. It is about as little on your face as a person can get.

Best machine...full data meaning more than data than just hours of use? What are your options for available machines? I know that they do things a bit different in Australia than we do here.
One of our members here has a blog with explanations on which ones are full data and availability of software.http://maskarrayed.wordpress.com/

Welcome Dreamy!

You have come to a great place to get help and to have a almost unlimited source for things related to Sleep Apnea. Please also read when you get time (if you haven't already) the posts at the very top of the forum index page that deal with being newly diagnosed and about the success stories those here have had. Remember this is a journey that we all share. Feel free to ask any question (even if you think it may be stupid or silly) as we are all here to receive help and to give help.

Good luck, and welcome again

John

1. Read all you can on this forum.
2. What Pugsy said!
3. I use the Swift FX for Her also and it is easy to get used to.
4. Can you give us any more information from your doctor or sleep study? Are your apneas mostly obstructive? Do you have Centrals?
5. Ask anything and Good Luck!

Data capable machine such as PR REMstar System One Cpap Pro with C-Flex at the very minimum. (What I have and it does the trick and gives me the info I need to know that my therapy is affective) Better, auto set (not auto). Resmed has the S9 which are similar. Be sure the machine is data capable. Again, autoset would be even better. Depends on how much control you want over your own therapy.

I too am claustophobic. I couldn't use a nasal mask much less a ffm (full face mask). I use Resmed Swift FX for her. They are pillows and are very uninvasive. I do have to wear a chin strap so that I don't mouth breath. I am looking into hybrid ffm which cover your mouth and have pillows but don't go up around your eyes and don't block your vision. You might want to watch that series of posts for info. Here's a video so you can see them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHLmbjC ... lf=mh_lolz

This video shows how to select a mask. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDcuca6 ... lf=mh_lolz
