My New Resmed S9

Post by BadThad » Fri Jan 20, 2012 10:06 am

Got a new S9 just before Christmas and want to say I love this machine! I can easily check my AHI in the morning, that's a great feature. Also, the exhalation relief is simply fantastic....so much better than my old Resprironics. I jumped it up to level 3 to start and found that to be too much (to my surprize), dialed it back to 2 and I'm very happy. It's also a very quiet machine, another surprize.

I wanted the PC software but my DME refused and said "for professional use only", which isn't a deal breaker since I can get info directly from the UI. The humidifcation is also excellent with the climate line tubing, it gives me great control over it.

My avg AHI is 1.7, seems to bounce between about 0.8 and 2.5....so I'm sleeping like a brick! GREAT MACHINE!

SleepyHead is free, open source software that works great.

You can also legally download the ResMed software for free. Look for member Unclebob and he has a link for how to get it. Don't tell the DME about it, or they'll bitch and complain to ResMed.

Hello BadThad. Good for you and glad you like the S9. I'm a new user of this machine also and I'm really impressed as well. Why don't you go to http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/s ... =Main_Page and download sleepyhead to interrogate your machine. It's very user friendly and puts out just as much information as the Resmed software. Also has great help and tutorials. Hope this helps.

Yea, I have seen the software posted here before, I might give it a try because the longer term data is alway interesting to look at. For now, the morning (past night) AHI is good enough because I'm sleeping so well.

THANKS!
