Intellipap flex settings

Post by cortez356 » Tue Jan 17, 2012 10:03 am

Although I normally use an S9 I bought an Intellipap for traveling. We are on the road and last night I had problems with the Devillbis. The change from inhale to exhale and vice versa is too harsh. My nasal mask pops and my ears hurt.If I try real hard to slow down my bretahing it is better but shouldnt the machine adjust to me?? What should I set my flex to for a softer change? Should I also adjust the wave form? It is very uncomfortable. Thanks

Bob

I have my Smartflex set at 1 and at fulltime. The Iround and Eround are both set at 4 for me. I find this a very smooth transition from inhale to exhale and back. Before I adjusted the rounding, I had trouble getting a smooth transition but the 4 setting for both made a real difference and made the machine very comfortable for me.

You will need to experiement with what settings work best for you.

I have the machine set at AutoAdjust - minimum pressure 11 cm and maximum pressure 13 cm. Your pressure setting(s) may make a difference too.

Hope my experience helps!

My settings are as follows:

Smart Flex - on full time and set to 2
iRounding set at 1
eRounding set at 2

My auto pressure range is 7.5-10.5. I do not discern any pressure changes....smooth as glass!

I, too, have an S9 and Intellipap. When I got the iPAP about a year ago I was a little put off by the "Darth Vader" feel of the thing. But I read the manual and realized the I rounding and E rounding settings were user-settable, if that's a word. I set both to the max (5, I think), and never bothered to adjust them again. With those settings, to me the Intellipap feels just like my S9 Autoset. I can't tell the difference once the lights are out.

Other than that, my settings are 9 cm minimum, no upper setting. Pressure seems to range between 9 and 11, which was my titrated pressure at the Sleep Doc's.
