Most Comfortable Pillow (for sleeping)????
Most Comfortable Pillow (for sleeping)????
Good afternoon all, hope everyone is doing well.
I'm interested in some suggestions for a comfortable pillow to lay my head on when I go to sleep at night. I tried to do a search for this topic, but all I seemed to get were results for nasal pillows.
I am a VERY restless sleeper. I am constantly alternating between one side or the other and my stomach. I also sleep with one of my arms underneath the pillow, and so I experience "sleep arm". When I wake up, and throughout the day, my neck is usually stiff.
I figured since I finally got the CPAP, I might as well do everything that I can to improve my sleep.
Any suggestions?
THANKS!!!

I use the contour pillow. It is a memory-foam cpap pillow. cpap.com sells them. I need a flatter pillow for my neck. The cut-outs allow me to sleep on my side(s) without hitting the mask. Lots of folks here use a buckwheat pillow. I have never tried one.

It varies with each of us.
Google "bed pillow" in this forum for previous discussions.

I am using the PAPillow right now, but recently saw the Psyche CPAP Pillow that I am interested in. A Google search should find you a link.

Re: Most Comfortable Pillow (for sleeping)????
I have a similar question but can't find anything in this huge single forum (they really need to create sections for different discussions, not everyone has hours to dig thru all the old posts).
I am looking for a pillow to help hold my huge noggin so I can sleep on my back. I never used to be able to sleep on my back, probably because of my apnea; but now I seem to get the best sleep when I am flat on my back. I would guess it is partly because my mask starts to leak a bit when I turn to the side but I do seem to sleep better on my back now. I can't say for sure but I think my AHI is lower when I am able to stay on my back. I image it is because I never used to sleep on my back that I just don't do well without support. I have molded a standard fiber fill pillow to help support my head but over time it compresses and I get less support. I have looked around for foam pillows (regular or CPAP) but they seem to have no support on the sides to help keep me facing up. Any suggestions??

Re: Most Comfortable Pillow (for sleeping)????
I haven't been able to sleep on my tummy for years. I bought a Sleepap pillow (from cpap.com) but it was too fluffy for me and I have a bad neck, so it was sore in the morning. I like a flatter and firm pillow. I bought the memory-foam contour pillow and love it. You must like a "flatter" pillow... though. It is very firm. The cut-outs on the side are great for side sleeping and it won't interfere with the mask. The contour comes in 3 sizes. If this "tickles" your curiousity, I have noticed you can get it from cpap.com, Walgreens or Amazon.KrisasMan wrote:I have a similar question but can't find anything in this huge single forum (they really need to create sections for different discussions, not everyone has hours to dig thru all the old posts).

I've been using a Sobakawa Cloud Pillow for a couple of months now and like it a lot. I think it's similar to the buckwheat pillow but is filled with very small plastic pellets instead of the buckwheat. It's sculpted so that if you sleep on your back, your head and neck is cradled in the center section and if you're a side sleeper, you can sleep on either edge of the pillow with your mask not coming into contact with the pillow. Bed, Bath and Beyond sells it for $19.99 and they always are issuing those 20% off coupons.

The buckwheat pillow crushes my ears when i sleep on my side. I always wake up feeling like i just got boxed in the ear in the middle of the night. In fact, if anyone wants it, its free if you pay the shipping or live in southern california where I can get it to ya.

Re: Most Comfortable Pillow (for sleeping)????
I love my buckwheat husk / Sobakawa pillow! I can't get to sleep unless it's on my side, although I will wake up on my back.
I thought the buckwheat pillow would be hard. In fact, the pillow is moldable like play-dough, and stays in the basic position where I punch it up.
I too had the problem with my ears getting too much pressure, but I would reach my hand under my ear, massage the hulls away, and all is well.
I used to be a 2-pillow sleeper, but now it's just the sobakawa pillow alone.

Re: Most Comfortable Pillow (for sleeping)????
I would definitely recommend memory foam pillows.
Have you tried looking on www. massagechairshop .co .uk? It compares the prices from some of the UK's biggest retailers such as Debenhams, Dixons, Amazon, etc, and gives you good deals. Thats where i went to find the right memory foam pillow for me and you get it at the cheapest price as the cheapest one from the stores is on offer. You just click the product and paying online is secure as you actually pay through the retailers site! A friend recommended it to me and I would definitely recommend it!
